The Trust has been honored with the following awards over the past decades.

Joyce Bove, senior vice president for programs and special projects accepted the Founders Award on behalf of The Trust from Karen Schlesinger, co-founder and former Executive Director of Resources for Children with Special Needs.

Trust program officer Irfan Hasan accepts VISIONS' Distinguished Partner Award on behalf of The Trust. The award was presented by Joseph Corace, chairman, and Yvonne Cotto-Calhoun, member, of VISIONS Brooklyn Advisory Board.


  • The New York Community Trust's Communications and Marketing Department was given an American Graphic Design Award for its Grants and Results Newsletter Series. The Award was presented by Graphic Design USA to David L. Marcus, Director of Communications and Marketing, and Amy Wolf, Communications Officer (pictured) 


  • Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities honored Pat Jenny, Trust VP for Grants and Special Projects, the Nicholas P. Bollman Award, which recognizing leaders whose commitment to building strong, sustainable and equitable communities inspires others.
  • Len McNally, Trust Program Director for Health and People with Special Needs, won the Carter Burden Center for Aging's Annual Humanitarian Award.

  • Marshal England Memorial Public Health Award for Support of the Health Advocacy Community from the Commission on the Public’s Health System.

  • New York City Administration for Children’s Services Special Commissioner’s Golden Heart Award.

  • Outreach Project's Rebuilding Families Award.
  • Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies' Keystone Award.
  • Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Elderly's (SAGE) Annual Award.


  • Coalition of Behavioral Health Agencies' Annual Mental Health Award for “commitment to improving the lives of people with mental illness and for dedicated service to the mental health community.”


  • Institute for the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Elderly's Visionary Award.
  • Council on Foundations' Paul Ylvisaker Award for Public Policy for our  response to the September 11th tragedy.


  • Black Agency Executives’ 13th Annual Founders Award for Philanthropic Leadership for our response to September 11th.
  • Honored by Citizens Advice Bureau and National Council of Jewish Women for helping build Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) programs in the City.
