Cause Effective
  Provides management consulting services to nonprofits, teaches clients how to build effective boards, manage successful events, maximize fundraising potential, and specializes in individual donor cultivation.   To help nonprofits raise more money from individuals.

  • Ongoing fundraising advice through its "Coach-on-Call" consultation service.

Community Resource Exchange
  Offers management consulting to hundreds of New York City nonprofits annually.   To help community organizations sustain critical services in four neighborhoods with high levels of poverty.  

Neighborhoods: East New York/ Brownsville, Washington Heights, Far Rockaway, and Highbridge.
 
  • Convenes key nonprofits in each neighborhood to determine their management needs and capacity for growth.
  • Hosts forums and learning groups for nonprofit leaders and residents.
  • Provides individualized coaching, training, and strategic consulting.
 

Lawyers Alliance for New York   Has met the non-litigation legal needs of nonprofits for 40 years.  

  To provide business legal services to nonprofits, including debt restructuring.  
  • Individual rescue plans, loan repayment schedules, mortgage review, mergers, and bankruptcy consultations for groups.
  • Assigns pro bono attorneys.
 

 
Mental Health Association of NYC   Runs residential, vocational, and clinical programs for children, adults, and the elderly and advocates for public policies to improve services for the mentally ill.   To provide mental health training to staff at agencies helping New Yorkers weather the economic recession.  
  • Provides a resource manual, training and materials to help nonprofits respond to high levels of emotional distress.
  • Workshops for organizations working on job placement, family financial counseling, and youth and families in crisis.
 

 
Nonprofit Coordinating Committee   Serves as an umbrella membership and service organization for more than 1,700 nonprofits in the City, Long Island, and Westchester. It informs and connects nonprofit leaders, saves nonprofits money, and strengthens the sector’s relations with government.   To help New York City nonprofits take advantage of back-office outsourcing.  
  • Matches small and mid-sized nonprofits with affordable vendors
  • Monitors cost savings and conducts cost-benefit analysis of outsourcing.
  • Helps nonprofits assess if outsourcing makes sense.
  • Hosts resource fairs for vendors and nonprofits in the five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester.
 

 
Nonprofit Finance Fund
  Provides loans, grants, training, and consulting on financial strategies to help groups grow responsibly.  
  To provide debt-management counseling and training for New York City nonprofits, especially arts groups.  
  • Analyzes debt obligation and reviews credit needs.
  • Two-day clinics on financial management; customizable training sessions available.
  • Workshops on debt management and scenario planning.
 

 
 NYCharities.org   Makes it easier for small and mid-sized nonprofits reach donors who prefer the ease of online donating.   To expand an online charitable giving service for New York City nonprofits.
