5/7/10 - Trust leads foundation effort to restore summer youth programs on the chopping block
5/7/10 - Funding for 30 summer youth programs for middle schoolers was cut from Bloomberg's FY11 budget, but the NYC Youth Funders Network worked quickly with the City and other funders to find a way to restore funding to as many programs as possible. With lead funding from The New York Community Trust, $1.3 million has been promised thus far to keep these programs running. "These programs serve 2,000 middle school children. Those programs really mean a lot to those kids." says Roderick Jenkins, program officer for children youth, and families at The Trust.
