The Trust's Distribution Committee—our governing board—is composed of 12 distinguished New Yorkers who are selected for their judgment, integrity, and understanding of the City's opportunities and challenges.

Six members of this governing board are nominated by civic authorities representing the public:

  • one by the mayor of New York;
  • one by the chairman of the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce;
  • one by the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit;
  • one by the chairman of Lincoln Center;
  • one by the president of the New York City Bar Association;
  • and one by the president of the New York Academy of Medicine.

Five more members are nominated by our Trustees' Committee, and our president serves by reason of office.
