New York State is home to the largest nonprofit sector in the nation; in New York City alone, there are about 50,000 nonprofits. To meet meet the needs of our city, the sector needs strong and diverse leaders that reflect the communities they serve. But as a generation of executive directors retires, the sector faces a shortage of new leaders ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges.
In 2015, The Trust responded to this need by creating The New York Community Trust Leadership Fellows program at the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College.
To ensure fellows continue to learn and benefit from the program, The Trust commissioned an assessment of the first five cohorts and is using the report to inform improvements for the fellowship. You can read the full report as a PDF or on issuu.
